A collaborative to protect open space

Unlike residents in many urban areas, Twin Citians can still enjoy the outdoors close to home. But we're losing over three acres of open space every hour—an area the size of Minneapolis is lost every seven months.

Less than 6% of the native landscape in this area remains today. Wetlands have been drained and filled. Sign up for our e-newsletterForests have been cut, prairies paved, and farmland turned into stripmalls. With a million new residents coming here in the next 20 years, we could quickly lose what's left.

Every day across our region, public decisions are being made about which land we build on and which land we protect. Only you can make sure those decisions are the right ones. The Embrace Open Space collaborative is here to help your voice be heard.
