Cannon River Watershed Partnership
CRWP works to improve and protect the surface and groundwater resources of the Cannon River watershed by coordinating existing local and state government resources, instilling a sense of watershed pride, and by providing for cooperative management and protection of the watershed.

Cedar Lake Park Association
This association is trying to establish a nature park in the heart of the city, saving a large parcel of land on the north and east sides of Cedar Lake in Minneapolis from development. They built the award-winning Cedar Lake Regional Trail.

Friends of Bassett's Creek
The friends are trying to restore some of the natural creek meandering of Bassett's Creek that flows from Medicine Lake to the Mississippi River, and adjacent natural features such as flood plains, wetlands, wet meadows and native vegetation. Their vision includes the creation of adjacent public parkland and walking paths for human enrichment, and the improvement of water quality in this tributary. NOTE: Bassett's Creek is one of this campaign's 10 Twin Cities Treasures.

Friends of the Bay This citizens' group is trying to make sure new development in Grey Cloud Township and St. Paul Park is something we can all live with, with an immediate focus on the proposed River's Edge development and the serious problems posed by the proposal in its current form.

Friends of Birch Island Woods
This active group in Eden Prairie and Minnetonka was honored last year as a Champion of Open Space for its successes and continuing efforts to protect Eden Prairie's Birch Island Woods and other vulnerable open spaces, and for its support of efforts to conserve Chanhassen's Seminary Fen and the peripheries of local conservation areas and the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge.

Friends of Birch Pond, Anwatin
The Friends are trying to restore the natural beauty of the Anwatin Woods in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood in Minneapolis, preserving it as an Environmental Learning Center for the benefit of generations to come.

Friends of Henry Park
This group of neighbors, trying to preserve a 12-acre wooded parcel above the Mississippi River in southeast St. Paul, is facing two major obstacles in their worthwhile quest: a rapidly approaching deadline and a lack of ready cash. The environmentally sensitive tract stands adjacent to other green space and parkland and would help to ensure an unbroken natural corridor for wildlife.

A citizen-based nonprofit organization protecting the outstanding scenic character of the St. Croix River Valley landscape from Hastings, Minnesota, in the south to Danbury, Wisconsin, in the north. The coalition works to implement effective scenic preservation ordinances, to conserve those positive assets that define individual community character, and to protect the economic value of the valley's gateway highway approaches.
