Citizen GroupsSuccess StoriesDownloads

In 2002, a group of nonprofits came together to start a multimedia campaign that encourages Twin Citians to get more involved in local land-use decisions. The Embrace Open Space campaign uses advertising, special events, awards, publications, and this website to help citizens understand the issue, what it means to them, and how to get involved.

Important allies of this campaign are citizen action groups working throughout the region to protect specific sites. The success stories that grow out of the campaign partners' work and the efforts of these citizens are inspirational.

Many times, it only takes a handful of committed people to protect the land they love.
